JERA Americas Holds First All-Company Community Day

HOUSTON AND SAN FRANCISCO – May 8, 2024 – JERA Americas was proud to host its first all Company community volunteer day. Employees spent time volunteering with nonprofit organizations in Houston and San Francisco.

Company employees volunteer as a group at the Houston Food Bank annually but this is the first time employees have deployed in teams to assist local nonprofits. Each organization chose the work that employees performed according to their greatest needs. Organizations supported by JERA Americas volunteer work teams included:

  • Children’s Museum Houston
  • Dress for Success Houston
  • Houston Humane Society
  • Houston Parks & Recreation
  • Project Sunshine
  • SF Marin Food Bank (for San Francisco office)

The day was one of the ways that JERA Americas lives its values. The Company values are Sustainability, Happy, Adaptable, Passionate, Entrepreneurial (SHAPE). Sustainability is the primary company value, and it encompasses safety, environmental, social, and financial sustainability.

“When it comes to social sustainability, JERA Americas is committed to supporting our employees and our communities by taking actions that sustain them,” said Steve O’Rourke, Chief Executive Officer. “This Community Volunteer Day was an opportunity for our employees to engage in teamwork with a broader purpose and to connect in a fulfilling way.”

Community Sustainability: JERA Americas encourages volunteering in the community by holding all company community volunteer events during the workday, on Company time. JERA Americas also offers two days of paid time off for employees to volunteer at the charities of their choice.
